NPPC Intervenes in Postal Rate Case
NPPC has intervened in the postal rate case recently filed by USPS. In R2005-1, the Postal Service is asking for an across-the-board increase of some 5.4%, and is seeking a swift settlement of the case before the Postal Rate Commission. NPPC has intervened as a so-called “Limited Participator.” Our role will be primarily to monitor developments and ensure that any proposed agreement on rates will remain fair to members’ interests in First Class Mail. This could mean participation in one or more hearings, if held, and in settlement conferences and other discussions.
